The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has sent a letter of condolence expressing deep sorrow over the death of Mehman Karimov, Head of the International Programs Department of the National Olympic Committee.
Idman.Biz reports that James Macleod, IOC Director of Relations with National Olympic Committees, Olympic Solidarity and the "Olympism365" program, noted in the letter:
"Mehman Karimov was an inspiring leader who dedicated his life to sports and education and made a great contribution to the development of Olympic values. As a result of his activities, many young people gained opportunities to learn, connect and develop.
With his leadership in the OCEP program and his efforts to strengthen international cooperation, Mehman Karimov left an indelible mark on the world of sports. His energy, generosity and value for people will always be remembered."
At the end, the IOC representative expressed deep condolences to Mehman Karimov's family, relatives and the Azerbaijan Olympic Movement.
