For the first time since 1982, the Chinese team failed to win a medal at the World Diving Championships in the 10-meter platform event.
Idman.biz reports that the Chinese failed to make the top three at the World Championships held in Singapore.
The winner was Australian Cassiel Rousseau (534.80). Ukrainian Oleksiy Sereda took second place (515.20), and Mexican Randal Willars Valdez took third place (511.95). Chinese divers Zhu Zifeng and Zhao Renzhe finished only fourth and fifth, respectively.
The last time Chinese athletes failed to reach the prize-winners in this event was in 1982. At that time, Americans Greg Louganis and Bruce Kimball took first and third places, and USSR representative Vladimir Aleynik took second place.
In the women's 10-meter platform diving competition, the Chinese team last remained without medals in 1978.
