Ceyhun Rahmanov, Head of the International Programs Department of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee (NOC), made important statements about the "Safe Sport" concept, one of the most current topics in the sports world in recent times.
Idman.Biz reports that the head of the department emphasized that each federation should build its own policy in this direction. According to him, although the concept of safe sport is often confused with sports justice, it is actually aimed at protecting the moral and physical well-being of athletes.
"Currently, safe sport is the most focused topic in the world. In many cases, this concept may be confused with sports justice, but this is not the case. The main goal here is to protect athletes from bullying and harassment," said Ceyhun Rahmanov.
He also noted that Azerbaijani experts have undergone special training abroad for this purpose. The Safe Sports Commission has already been established under the NOC, and it is planned to select a responsible expert in this field in each federation by the end of the current year. The main goal is to fully develop the internal safe sports policy of each federation by the end of the year.
