Azerbaijan has increased the number of medals won at all Universiades it has participated in to 53.
İdman.biz reports that our athletes have won 15 gold, 16 silver, and 22 bronze medals at the University Games so far.
At the Universiade recently completed in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, the Azerbaijani team won 2 gold and 2 silver medals, taking 24th place in the overall standings.
Our rhythmic gymnastics group exercise team – Laman Alimuradova, Gullu Agalarzade, Darya Sorokina, Kamila Aliyeva, and Elizaveta Luzan – won two gold medals and one silver. The second silver medal was won for our country by judoka Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg).
