The Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (AKAF) held a press conference.
Idman.Biz reports that the event was attended by Elnur Mammadov, Head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Farhad Aliyev, Secretary General of AKAF, and Ken Li, authorized representative of the Global Canal Rowing Action.
The event participants congratulated the media representatives on Victory Day and National Flag Day and emphasized the historical importance of the victory won by the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

During his speech, Ken Li spoke about the rowing march held last year in Baku on the eve of COP29 under the motto "Row in clean water." It was noted that the purpose of the action is to draw attention to environmental problems. The action will continue this year in Belem, Brazil, within the framework of COP30 and covers a total of 100 cities around the world.

The conference also announced the results of the federation in 2025. It was reported that international competitions such as the "Mingachevir Regatta" and the "President's Cup" were held by AKAF during the year. Part of the competitions was organized in Karabakh - in Kondalanchay in Fuzuli and in Sugovushan in Aghdara.
Rowers won a total of 42 medals in various competitions last season, including 8 gold, 17 silver and 17 bronze.

After the press conference, demonstration performances of more than 100 rowers in kayaks, canoes, academic rowing and dragon boats were held in the Caspian Sea.
