Two more Azerbaijani judoists failed to win medals in the individual competition of the World Championship held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
According to "Report", Fidan Alizade (57 kg) lost to Maritsa Perisic in the 1/16 finals. Rashid Mahammadaliyev eliminated Kazbek Naguchev (UAE) in the first round, then was stronger than Lasha Shavdatuashvili in the 1/8 finals. He lost to Baysangur Bagayev (Serbia) in the 1/4 finals, and to Japanese Tatsuki Ishihara in the consolation match.
It should be noted that Hidayat Heydarov, the Olympic, world and European champion, lost to Portuguese representative Otari Kvantidze in the 1/16 finals earlier.
It should be noted that 13 judoists (9 men, 4 women) represent Azerbaijan in 10 weight categories in individual competitions at the World Cup. Our national team will also compete in the mixed team competition. Our judoists have not yet won a medal in the tournament.
