Azerbaijani judoka Balabey Agayev (60 kg), who won a gold medal at the "Grand Slam" held in Paris, was fully prepared for the tournament both psychologically and physically.

He stated that he had prepared at a high level for the intense competition:
"The competition was difficult, but I was very well prepared. Almost all my main rivals participated in this tournament. I felt completely ready both psychologically and physically. I try to learn something new every day. Thanks to my coaches, they always support me. I try to be better every day than I was yesterday. Our federation has always given us a lot. It should be noted that B.Agayev won the gold medal by defeating Ukrainian Dilshot Khalmatov in the final of the "Grand Slam" tournament.
