The goals of Azerbaijani judokas, who won seven medals at the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, are very high.
Omar Rajabli (81 kg), a national member who won the gold medal in the competition, said that they want to perform successfully in the upcoming competitions as well.
"Our goals are very big. The world championship will be held in Baku. We will try to achieve even better results than this," he told report.az.
O.Rajabli said that the "Grand Slam" tournament in Tashkent is considered one of the most difficult competitions of the year:
"Japan, Georgia, Asian and European countries participated in the tournament. Despite this, I was able to win a gold medal. There was also high competition in the weight I competed in. I thank the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, my family. They are always by my side. They motivate me".
Let us remind that along with Omar Rajabli, Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg), Murad Fatiyev (90 kg) and Kanan Nasibov (+100 kg) won gold medals at the "Grand Slam". Balabay Agayev (60 kg) won silver, Zelim Kotsoev (100 kg) and Jamal Gamzatkhanov (+100 kg) won bronze medals. Azerbaijani judokas, who won a total of 7 medals, including 4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze, took second place in the team score and first place in the men's competition.
