Yuliya Sebestyen, the 2004 European champion in women's figure skating and a coach, is suspected of psychological and physical abuse of children.
Idman.Biz reports this with reference to Telex.
The allegations against the former Hungarian athlete were first made in 2023.
Police have completed the investigation and confirmed that the lives of minors are in danger. Hungarian prosecutors have also questioned a person on three counts of the crime. The suspect appealed against the charges, but his appeal was found to be unfounded.
Sebestyen participated in four Olympic Games. In addition to the gold medal at the 2004 European Championships, she won a bronze medal at the same tournament in 2003.
