The Baku International Winter Tournament was held with the organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, the "Athletics" Sports Club, and with the support of World Athletics.
İdman.Biz reports that Konul Nurullayeva, the vice-president of the federation, and Sevda Mirzayeva, the sector manager of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, speaking at the opening ceremony, spoke about the importance of the competition and wished the participants success.
About 60 athletes representing Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, along with local athletes, competed in the tournament held at the Baku Athletics Center.
Tembo John surpassed all his rivals in the men's 60-meter race. In the women's competition, Lamiya Valiyeva became the winner of the international competition. Rustam Mammadov climbed to the highest step of the podium in the triple jump. In the long jump, Timur Isakov, representing Kyrgyzstan, showed a higher result and took 1st place. Also, winners were determined in various categories among boys and girls in the U-18 category.
