The summer national cross-country championship was held with the organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation.
İdman.Biz reports that more than 80 athletes from Ganja, Barda, Gadabay, Ismayilli, Astara, Shamkir and Khizi, as well as representatives of the capital, competed in the competition.
Bakhtiyar Asgarli, an athlete from Barda, won the title of national champion in the 10 km race among men. Sanan Bayramov, a representative of Ganja, won the 6 km distance, and Nihat Gafarov and Royal Miraczade won the 3 and 2 km distances, respectively.
Among women, Anna Yusupova became the national champion again in the 6 km race. Elina Yusupova in 4 km, Nila Heydarova in 2 km, and Madina Gojayeva in 1 km rose to the highest step of the podium.
