Nakhchivan hosted the autonomous republic athletics championship in running, dedicated to the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty", among schoolboys and girls.
The local bureau of "Report" informs that about 70 schoolchildren from cities and regions competed for prizes at the competition held at the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic stadium.
At the championship, jointly organized by the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, athletes covered distances of 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1500 meters.
Among the boys, Mahammad Iskandarli (100 m), Murad Muradov (200 m), Ughur Mammadli (400 m), Vedat Babayev (800 m) and Namig Babayev (1500 m) finished the race in the first place. In the girls' competition, Aysel Huseynova (100 m), Zeynab Babayeva (200 m), Dilek Mamiyeva (400 m) and Duygu Huseynova (800 m) achieved the best results.
The owners of the first three places were awarded diplomas, medals and gifts.
