The new episode of the podcast "What's happening in sports?" has been aired on Baku TV. The guest of the program was Dadash Dadashbayli, the silver medalist of the World Weightlifting Championship, European Champion and winner of the CIS Games.
İdman.Biz reports that the athlete, who started his professional career at an early age, said that this choice was mainly due to the conditions, recalling how he started weightlifting.
"I started weightlifting at a young age, when I was 6 years old. Actually, it is a very early age to start this sport. It's just that at that time there were no conditions for other sports in Gobustan other than weightlifting. I had good physical indicators from childhood. The coach said that I would become an athlete. I'm still curious as to why I became interested in this sport at such an age," said the weightlifter.
Dadash Dadashbayli highly appreciated 2025 as Azerbaijan's sports ambassador. According to him, the past year was especially memorable in terms of results.
"Compared to other years, we had great results in 2025. The number of medals was more than in previous years, the number of gold medals increased. I hope we will achieve even greater success this year," he added.
