The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup held in Baku from March 5-8 has successfully concluded. The magnificent sports festival, held at the National Gymnastics Arena, brought together the strongest gymnasts from more than 30 countries.
Idman.Biz reports that Nikita Simonov, Aydin Alizade, and Rasul Ahmadzada represented our country among men, and Deniz Aliyeva and Nazanin Teymurova among women, in the four-day competition.
The first two days of the tournament were dedicated to the qualifying stage. Based on the results of this stage, Nikita Simonov, Deniz Aliyeva, and Aydin Alizade managed to qualify for the decisive final stage.
In the final performances that took place in the last two days, our gymnasts fought to the end, but it was not possible to climb the podium this time. Nikita Simonov finished the competition in fourth place, Deniz Aliyeva in sixth, and Aydin Alizade in eighth.
