Isabelle Marciniak, Brazilian youth rhythmic gymnastics champion, has died at the age of 18.
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated in a statement by the Gymnastics Federation of the state of Parana.
Her cause of death was Hodgkin's lymphoma.
"The Parana State Gymnastics Federation announces with deep regret the death of Isabelle Marciniak. We offer our condolences to her family, friends, teammates and the entire gymnastics community. May her story, her passion for sport and her memory continue to live on and inspire everyone," the Federation said in a statement.
Isabelle Marciniak was the all-around champion of Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics in 2021. She took a break from competition in 2023 to receive treatment.
