The goal of the Azerbaijani national team in fencing, specifically in the epee discipline, is to win a gold medal in the near future.
This was stated by members of the team, who finished the III CIS Games with a silver medal, in an interview with the Western Bureau of "Report".
Emin Safarbayov said that the competition was interesting for him:
"The final match was a bit difficult. Although we did our best, we couldn't win the gold medal. This competition was a good experience for us. Our goal with my teammates is to achieve great success in the next competitions."
Another member of the epee national team, Mirkhatai Mammadov, also emphasized his hope for a good result in the future:
"We lost in the final, but I believe that our team will participate in the next competitions and have its say. We were a little weak technically. We must do our best to achieve greater success."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani men's epee national team lost to Russia with a score of 35:45 in the final of the III CIS Games and won a silver medal.
