The Autumn National Cross-Country Championship was held in Jalilabad, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation. Sport24.az reports that more than 150 athletes from Ganja, Lankaran, Astara, Jalilabad, Khizi, Guba, Khachmaz, Ismayilli, Barda, Gadabay and Ordubad, as well as representatives of the capital, competed in the race.
Speakers at the opening ceremony noted the importance of the competition and wished the participants success.
Barda athlete Bakhtiyar Asgarli won the title of national champion again in the 10 km race among men.
Salim Guluzade won at 6 km, and Ali Rzazade and Namig Babayev won at 3 and 2 km, respectively. Among women, Khaitra Hidayatzade, representing Ismayilli, became the champion of Azerbaijan, leaving behind all her rivals in the 6 km race. Leyla Abdulazizova won at 4 km, Azeri Mammadli at 2 km, and Nila Heydarova at 1 km.
