Athlete Amrah Naghiyev from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the Istanbul Marathon held in Turkey for the 5th time in his career.
"Report"'s local bureau reports that a total of 41,416 participants from 126 countries registered for the 47th Istanbul Marathon, organized under the slogan "The world's only intercontinental marathon."
Winners were determined in the categories of 42 kilometers, 15.5 kilometers, corporate run, public run, and wheelchair run at the mass sports event.
Naghiyev took 15th place in the 15.5-kilometer distance with a result of 00:55:35 and achieved his best result in the Istanbul Marathons he has participated in since 2019. The athlete was presented with the marathon medal.
It should be noted that Amrah Naghiyev, the winner and prize-winner of Azerbaijan championships and international tournaments at various distances, is a regular participant in international marathons organized in many regions of Turkey, including Azerbaijan and Georgia.
