Alexander Plushenko, the son of two-time Olympic champion Yevgeni Plushenko, will make his debut for the Azerbaijan national team at the ISU Junior Grand Prix.
According to Idman.Biz, citing RIA Novosti, Yevgeni Plushenko himself announced this news.
"Alexander will participate in two International Grand Prix events - in Ankara and Batumi. We are currently preparing for them," Plushenko said.
Earlier, Yana Rudkovskaya, co-owner of the "Plushenko's Angels" academy, confirmed that Alexander had received permission from the ISU to compete in international tournaments under the flag of Azerbaijan.
The Grand Prix in Turkey will be held on September 17-19, and in Georgia on September 24-26.
