Aleksandr Plushenko, the son of two-time Olympic figure skating champion Evgeni Plushenko, will represent Azerbaijan in international competitions.
Idman.Biz, citing the "Ria Novosti" agency, reports that the Russian Figure Skating Federation gave its consent for the athlete's transfer at today's meeting of the Executive Committee.
It was reported that after obtaining special permission from the International Skating Union (ISU), the son of the two-time Olympic champion will be able to officially compete under the flag of Azerbaijan in international tournaments.
It is worth noting that Aleksandr Plushenko is considered one of the most popular young figure skaters in Russia and regularly participates in his father's ice shows.
