The Miami Grand Prix of the 2026 Formula 1 season will be remembered for the historic success of young talent Kimi Antonelli. According to Sport24.az, the 19-year-old "Mercedes" team driver has made his name in F1 history with his spectacular performance in the United States.
Starting the race from pole position, the young driver maintained his lead to the end, crossing the checkered flag first. This is Antonelli's third victory in his career. He has set a new record as the first driver in Formula 1 history to crown each of his first three pole positions with a victory.
Sharing his impressions after the victory, the young star did not hide that the weather conditions in Miami made it difficult for him:
"It was a very difficult fight. The weather was extremely hot and the humidity was high. When I was lapping with hard tires, I saw that there were still 20 laps left on the board. At that moment, my only wish was for the race to end as soon as possible."
The most interesting moments after the race took place in the "Mercedes" garage. Lionel Messi, considered one of the best football players in the world, was a guest of the team with his family. The legendary footballer personally approached Kimi Antonelli and congratulated him on his historic victory.
It should be noted that after this result, Kimi Antonelli has further strengthened his lead in the drivers' standings. He is 20 points ahead of his teammate George Russell, gaining a significant advantage at the start of the season.
