"Formula-1" president Stefano Domenicali has released an official statement following the announcement of the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which were scheduled to take place in April.
Idman.Biz reports that the "Formula-1" races to be held in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have been officially canceled.
"While this was a difficult decision to take, it is sadly the right one given the current situation in the Middle East. We thank the FIA and our wonderful hosts for their support and full understanding, as they had been looking forward to putting on a race for their fans with characteristic energy and excitement. We share this disappointment with them and look forward to returning as soon as the situation allows,” Domenicali said on the championship's official website.
The statement does not mention replacing these events, meaning the 2026 "Formula-1" stages have been reduced from 24 to 22. The third stage of the "Formula-1" season will be held in China this weekend. With the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia canceled, the fourth stage of the season will be held in Miami on May 3.
