Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has apologized to Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar for the incident in the Chinese Grand Prix sprint race.
Idman.Biz reports that the Italian driver collided with the Frenchman in the 6th corner of the first lap, damaging his car and receiving a 10-second penalty.
"Of course, on Saturday it was definitely my fault. I didn't hit him on purpose and didn't ruin his race. I take responsibility for it. After the sprint, of course, I went to apologize, but he was emotional. We know what Isack can be like sometimes, especially in the heat of battle, so it didn't bother me too much. Everything is fine now," Antonelli told Le Parisien.
It should be reminded that immediately after the race, Hadjar refused to shake Antonelli's hand and spoke harshly about the incident: "Considering that he has a rocket underneath him, I don't understand why he was so excited - he would still have overtaken."
