Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as the head coach of the France national team.
Sport.News reports that the French Football Federation has announced this information.
A 4-year contract has been signed with the specialist until the end of the 2030 World Cup. He will officially start his duties on August 1 and will lead the team from the 2026/2027 UEFA Nations League season.
The French specialist will also be at the helm of the team in the qualifying stages of EURO 2028, the 2028/2029 UEFA Nations League season, and the qualifying stages of the 2030 World Cup. His assistants will be determined in early September.
Note that Zidane is the 18th head coach in the history of the France national team since 1964, after Henri Guérin. He replaced Didier Deschamps in this position.
