Yuri Vernidub has been appointed as the head coach of "Neftchi" PFK. A 1.5-year contract has been signed with the Ukrainian specialist.
Lent.az reports that the "Neftchi" club has released information about this.
Vernidub, who started his coaching career as an assistant coach in 2001, and has been the head coach since 2011, has worked in "Metallurg" (Zaporozhye), "Zorya", "Krivbass" in his homeland, "Shakhtyor" (Soligorsk) in Belarus, and "Sheriff" in Moldova.
The experienced coach has been a bronze medalist of the Ukrainian Championship with "Zorya" and "Krivbass" in different years, and a 2-time champion of Moldova with "Sheriff".
The specialist who promoted "Sheriff" to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, "Zorya" to the group stage of the Europa League, and "Krivbass" to the European Cups after 24 years, was selected as the coach of the year in Ukraine in 2016 and 2018, and in Moldova in 2021.
It should be noted that Vernidub's assistants in the coaching staff are Valeri Mikhaylenko, Dmitro Kara-Mustafa, Vitali Vernidub and Igor Fokin.
