"The limit has been abolished. This step should have been taken gradually. In addition, there will be 12 teams in the championship. It is not yet known whether one team will be relegated, three will come, or two teams will come." These words were said by Yashar Vahabzade in his statement to Sport24.az.
Commenting on the decision to abolish the legionnaire limit in the Misli Premier League from the 2025/2026 season, the experienced specialist said that the national team's players will suffer in terms of playing for their clubs:
"If it is increased, there should be regional clubs. It is true that as a result of the abolition of the limit, the competition between local football players and legionnaires will increase. It is unknown how ready local players are for this. The number of teams has increased, local football players will have the opportunity to play in other clubs. It is possible that some national team players will suffer in terms of playing for their clubs. The future will show whether this decision will benefit us or not. Based on the decision, the teams will make their plans. Today, the club with the smallest budget is "Kapaz". They even have 10 legionnaires in their squad. In the next season, almost all of the 12 teams that will compete in the elite will have a large number of legionnaires."
It should be noted that at the meeting of the Executive Committee held yesterday, a decision was made to abolish the legionnaire limit in the Premier League from the next season.
