Nicolas Otamendi, a world champion with the Argentine national team, has signed a contract with River Plate. Sport24.az reports that the club's official website has released information about this.
Otamendi became a free agent after leaving Benfica at the end of the 2025/2026 season. The 38-year-old defender's contract with River Plate runs until December 2027.
Otamendi has been playing for Benfica since 2020. He has played 281 matches for the Portuguese club, winning the Portuguese Championship, the Portuguese Cup, and two Portuguese Super Cups.
It should be noted that Otamendi will join his new club after the World Championship this summer.
