The Azerbaijan women's national football team will play a decisive match in the qualifying round of the 2027 World Cup.
İdman.Biz reports that the team, led by head coach Siyasət Əsgərov, will face the North Macedonia team on the road.
The match will be held at the "Petar Miloşevski" stadium in Bitola. The match will start at 21:00 Baku time. The chief referee of the match will be Teona Sturua from Georgia.
In the last round, Hungary is leading the third group of League C with 13 points and has secured first place. Azerbaijan is in second place with nine points. North Macedonia is third with six points, and Andorra is fourth with one point.
A victory in Bitola will bring Azerbaijan's point total to 12 and keep the team's chance of advancing to the playoffs alive.
According to the regulations, the winners of the six groups and the two second-place teams with the best performance in League C will qualify for the playoffs. Therefore, the fate of our team will depend not only on the result of the match against North Macedonia but also on the performance of the teams that finish second in other groups.
Note that the 2027 Women's World Cup will be held in Brazil.
