Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim believes that winning the Europa League will not save the team's season. Sport24.az reports that Manchester United will play its first match against Athletic in the Europa League semi-finals today at 23:00 Baku time.
Amorim said the following at the pre-match press conference:
"Nothing can save our season. Of course, people will look differently at this season and the head coach. But this is about bigger issues at the heart of our club. We have to change a lot and be consistent.
Winning the Europa League will not solve our problems, it will just give us a ticket to the Champions League next year, it will bring additional income. But the main problems remain. We need to change the opinion of the fans with the right decisions, good transfer policy and our academy. These are the changes that will bring us back to the top. The main problems must be solved differently and this will take more time. We are aware of this."
