The head of the White House working group on the 2026 World Cup, Andrew Giuliani, explained the reason for the denial of entry to the country for the best referee in Africa, Omar Abdulqader Arta, for the 2026 World Cup.
Sport.Biz reports that the Somali referee had previously been denied a visa.
"Is the refusal to admit the referee related to Trump's criticism of Somalia? The question is flawed. The President is consistent on one issue and I fully support him: we will not allow individuals who pose a threat to the US for any reason, including the World Cup, to enter the country," Giuliani said at an event of the Atlantic Council.
