The "Šibenik" club, which is trying to stay in the Croatian league, has faced an unusual penalty.
İdman.biz reports that the Arbitration Court has decided that the outsider will receive one point instead of 3 for each match they win.
According to "Sportske novosti", however, the decision was soon canceled. Thus, the club paid off the debts that caused the fine at the last moment. Sources close to President Željko Karajica stated that "Šibenik" owed money to former coaches Mario Svitanović and Damir Čanadi, but the problem has already been resolved. It is said that the conversation is about approximately 276 thousand euros in total.
But all the troubles don't end there. The club's account has been frozen since March, players are not paid salaries, the issue of a license for the next season is questionable if they stay in the top league, and the search for a new owner continues...
"Šibenik", which theoretically does not lose its chances of staying, is in the last place in the tournament table with 28 points with five rounds left until the end of the season and is five points behind Zagreb "Lokomotiv" in 9th place.
