Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, is preparing to become an investor in the English football club "Derby County."
According to Idman.Biz, citing the "Daily Mail," his representatives have already held talks with the club's owner, David Clowes.
The potential deal is currently under review by the Independent Football Regulator (IFR). The regulator must assess whether Al-Sheikh meets the new requirements for club owners and directors.
Particular attention is being paid to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund's (PIF) majority stake in Newcastle United. The regulator must ensure that Al-Sheikh's potential investment in Derby does not create a conflict of interest in English football.
In recent weeks, Turki Al-Sheikh has shown increasing interest in the club by following Derby County's official social media accounts, fueling rumors about his possible involvement.
