Turkey and Italy to co-host the 2032 European Championship

"The opening of the UEFA representation in Istanbul is part of the cooperation between the parties regarding prestigious tournaments to be held in Turkey." According to Sport24.az, these words were said by AFFA Executive Vice President Sarkhan Hajiyev regarding his participation in the event organized in connection with the start of the UEFA representation in Turkey.

The official of the organization emphasized that UEFA will implement various projects in the brotherly country:

"The Turkish Football Federation did its best to organize the event at a high level. As you know, in 2026, the final match of the UEFA Europa League, and in 2027, the final match of the UEFA Conference League will be held in the brotherly country. In addition, in 2032, Turkey and Italy will jointly host the European Championship. Close cooperation work will be carried out between UEFA and Turkey regarding these prestigious events. Also, UEFA will have various projects related to the development of football in the region. The opening of the Istanbul representation was also a part of these."

S.Hajiyev said that the heads of the Football Federations of a number of countries, as well as the UEFA and the President of Turkey, participated in the event:

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the opening ceremony of the representative office. He gave his blessing and wished the representative office success in its activities. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and a number of heads of European and Asian Football Federations also attended the event." (Report)
