The reason for this is the low coefficients in the UEFA club ranking of the teams that retain the chance to participate in the tournament. Currently, three of our clubs are claiming a place in this competition.
For this, "Sabah" must defeat "Qarabağ" in the cup final. "Zira" must maintain the 2nd place and expect a victory from "Qarabağ" in the final. "Araz-Naxchivan"'s Europa League chance is only on paper. The regional representative himself must surpass "Zira" and become 2nd, relying on the Agdam club to win the cup.
All three clubs have low coefficients. For "Zira" and "Sabah", this figure is equal to 4,000. "Araz-Naxchivan", being a debutant in European cups, is satisfied with 3,925 points given based on the country's ranking. In all three versions, the Azerbaijani club will be among the unseeded.
By the way, 18 teams will compete in the first qualifying round. 9 of them will be seeded and 9 will be unseeded.
So far, only one club - "Aktobe" has qualified for this stage. The Kazakhstan club is one of the unseeded. The Kosovo representative will also fall into this pot together with the Azerbaijani team. The name of the other 15 clubs, as well as the pot, has not been determined.
Note that the draw for the first qualifying round of the European Cups will be held on June 17.
