Qarabag President Tahir Gozel and members of the club's Board of Directors met with the team's coaching staff and players.
Idman.Biz reports that the event was dedicated to the results of the season.
The meeting discussed the results of the season in which Qarabag achieved a historic success by reaching the play-off stage of the UEFA Champions League. Ideas were also expressed about the new season and the club's goals.
Tahir Gozel assessed Qarabag's overall performance during the season, emphasizing that the team's performance in both domestic competitions and the UEFA Champions League is of great importance for Azerbaijani football.
"What happened in the Champions League this season will be remembered as one of the brightest European pages in the history of Azerbaijani football. Qarabag has shown the whole continent that it is no longer a random participant in European football, but a real contender in major competition. All this was also a demonstration of the prestige of Azerbaijani football in the international arena. The role of Gurban Gurbanov should be especially noted in the formation of this successful path. He is not only the head coach of Qarabag, but also one of the main architects who shaped the club's football philosophy," he said.
The club president also spoke about transfer policy and the general management model:
"As always, we have preferred a systematic and far-sighted transfer policy, not sensational moves. Qarabag has been managed for many years on the basis of the principle of planned development, and this strategic line will not change. Work is also continuing consistently in the direction of developing our academy. The system established in the lower age groups in recent years has already begun to bear fruit.
Today, one of our main goals is not only to form a strong main team, but also to pass on Qarabag's football philosophy to future generations. We believe that in the coming years, more players from our academy will successfully play in both our main team and the Azerbaijani national team."
