"Sunderland" secured a Europa League spot for the next season by defeating "Chelsea" 2-1 in the final game of the Premier League. Sport24.az reports that this victory allowed the team to finish the season in 7th place.
With this, "Sunderland" will participate in a continental tournament for the first time in 53 years. The English club last participated in international competitions as the winner of the national cup in the 1973/74 season.
It should be noted that "Sunderland" was promoted from the Championship to the Premier League this season.
