Spanish La Liga has released a statement in response to reports that FIFA President Gianni Infantino plans to sell the organization's stake in the World Cup to private investors, supporting a statement by the European Leagues criticizing the decision.
Sport.Biz reports that alongside La Liga, the representatives of the English Premier League and Italy's Serie A have also supported the European Leagues' statement. However, the press services of the German Bundesliga and French Ligue 1 have not reacted to the statement.
"As a founding member of the European Leagues, La Liga supports the position expressed in the statement and rejects the proposal put forward by FIFA.
