South Korean forward and captain Son Heung-min played in the match against the Czech Republic (2:1) in Group A of the 2026 World Cup.
According to OptaJoe's account on the X social media platform, he became the second player from his country to play in four World Cups.
The first to do so was South Korea's current head coach Hong Myung-bo.
Son has been playing for the Korean national team since 2010 and has participated in the World Cups held in Brazil in 2014, Russia in 2018, and Qatar in 2022. Son will turn 34 on July 8.
