Afran Ismayilov, the new vice-president of "Shafa" FK, has confirmed that the club has parted ways with head coach Elgiz Karamli.
He stated that the team, which will play in the Premier League from the new season, needs a more experienced coach.
"We parted ways with Elgiz amicably. I offered him to work as an assistant coach alongside the new head coach. Elgiz is a very characterful and cultured person. However, the Premier League is such a level that competition and demands are quite high here. Therefore, I told him that it is important to gain a little more experience. I noted that he can gain experience by working alongside some coach. Elgiz said that he has great ambitions and wants to continue his career as a head coach. I also said that as a club, we are looking for a more experienced coach. Thank God, he took it with understanding and we parted respectfully," said Arfan Ismayilov in his statement to qol.az.
It should be noted that Elgiz Karamli announced that he left the club the other day and his contract was not renewed.
Let us remind you that "Shafa" FK won the 1st league in the season that ended with Elgiz Karamli as head coach and was promoted to the Premier League.
