Lionel Messi's injury has caused serious concern in the Argentina national team. Sport24.az reports that the experienced striker felt physically uncomfortable in Inter Miami's match against Philadelphia Union and had to leave the field prematurely.
Argentina national team head coach Lionel Scaloni spoke to DSports about the issue. He emphasized that they are closely monitoring the 37-year-old captain's condition:
"We were watching the match live at the training base. Lionel felt uncomfortable and said he wanted to be substituted. Initial medical opinions are not that scary. Of course, we wouldn't want him to face any problems. Now we just have to wait and see how the recovery process goes."
The head coach added that Messi is not the only player with injury problems in the team:
"We want him to come to the national team camp fully prepared. But this is not only about Leo. We have several players who currently have problems and they are not yet in ideal shape. Our main goal is to successfully get everyone through the rehabilitation process and get them fully ready."
It should be noted that the head coach of the Argentina national team will announce the final squad for the World Championship in the coming days.
