Arsenal defender William Saliba has revealed when he believed his team would win the Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that the French footballer said he felt that Arsenal had already gained a significant advantage in the title race in the crucial part of the season. The London club became English champion after 22 years, after finishing second for three consecutive seasons.
Saliba said that his belief in the championship arose in March:
"I started to feel that we could do it in March. After the game with Everton, it was clear to me that we would win the league."
According to the defender, the victory in that match was very important for the team. He stated that Manchester City's subsequent loss of points also created a favorable situation for Arsenal. Saliba emphasized that there were difficulties after returning from the national teams, but the team did not lose confidence.
The French footballer also spoke about the game against PSG in the Champions League final. He said that Arsenal has the best defensive line of the season and is looking forward to fighting against the Paris club's forwards.
Saliba considers PSG the favorite of the final. In his opinion, this is due to the fact that the Paris representative won the Champions League last season and reached the final again.
"If we want to change that, we have to win," the defender added.
It should be noted that the Arsenal - PSG final will be held on May 30 in Budapest. The London club will try to win its first title in the Champions League.
