Azerbaijani national team and Israeli "Ironi Kiryat Shmona" football team midfielder Rufat Abdullazade scored his first goal in his new club.
Idman.Biz reports citing "Sport5" that the 25-year-old footballer distinguished himself in the away match against "Ironi Tiberias" in the third round of the Toto Cup group stage.
Rufat Abdullazade opened the score with a precise shot after Ariel Sheratzky's pass in the 61st minute. No other goal was scored in the match, and "Ironi Kiryat Shmona" won 1-0. This is the first goal scored by the Azerbaijani midfielder in Israel.
Abdullazade was also close to scoring from a penalty kick in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the post. He was substituted in the 85th minute.
A member of the Azerbaijani national team was rented from the Croatian team "Varajdin" until the end of the season in late June. The Israeli representative also added the right to buy the player to the contract.
