Former Irish footballer Roy Keane harshly criticized the referee's decisions in the Champions League final.
Idman.Biz reports that the former midfielder criticized the referee's and VAR system's decisions in some episodes of the PSG - Arsenal final.
He said that there was no proper reaction to the hand ball episodes in the penalty area:
"This is just a disgrace. How many more hand balls should there be for the referee to finally blow the whistle? We saw this in Saka and others - the hands are open, the movement is clear, but the reaction is zero. Referees are still afraid to make decisions and resolve all decisive episodes in favor of Arsenal."
Roy Keane also stated that despite the existence of the VAR system, mistakes were made in key moments:
"They have VAR, all the technologies, but they still make mistakes in the most important moments. This is unacceptable. Football players are allowed too much because the referee is too weak. Such decisions ruin football and the whole tournament has already shown it."
It should be noted that in the Champions League final, PSG defeated Arsenal 4:3 in a penalty shootout in a match that ended 1:1 in regular and extra time. German referee Daniel Siebert was the head referee of the match.
