"We knew the match would be difficult. "Zira" is fighting for high places. We showed a good game in the first half. We were the superior side. We opened the scoring, but unfortunately, we conceded a goal due to a momentary lapse in concentration. This inevitably motivated the opponent. They took the lead at the beginning of the second half. After that, we had several scoring opportunities, but we couldn't take advantage of them. We will prepare for the next games." These words were said by Rafael Maharramli, a football player of "Shamakhi", in his statement to Sport24.az.
He explained the unsuccessful start of his team to the second round of the Misli Premier League as follows:
"We were playing well in the 4-5 matches before the winter break. Our first opponent in the second half of the season was "Qarabag", whose strength is known to everyone. We could have taken points in both games. We will be even better in future games."
Maharramli assessed "Shamakhi's" chances of staying in the Premier League:
"I can only say one thing about this: we are focused on the games. We want to work on ourselves and move forward. All of our opponents are good teams. God willing, we will stay in the Premier League."
