The current president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, stated that he has identified who is behind the campaign against the club.
Lent.az reports, citing foreign media, that he said these individuals are former employees of the club:
"I have been observing a shadow campaign against Real Madrid for several months now. What is said about me preventing participation in the elections does not reflect the truth. The only owners of the club are the club members.
Now that a candidate has emerged, we know who is behind it. These are the people who were at the club during the Ramon Calderon era. He was a president who had to leave office after the most shameful failure in the club's history.
They come not to serve Real Madrid, but for their own interests. I am from Real Madrid, while others want me to be on their side."
