According to the source, the candidacy of the 57-year-old Maldini is being promoted by Italian Sports Minister Andrea Abodi.
It should be noted that the Italian national team has failed to qualify for the World Cup for the third time in a row. For this reason, the president of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, resigned.
