Today, "Araz-Nakhchivan" played the first match of the third round of the Conference League qualifying stage. The team led by Elmar Bakhshiyev faced the Cypriot team "Omonia".
The match ended with a 0:4 defeat for our representative.
Sport24.az reports that after the match, at the press conference, the head coach of "Omonia", Henning Berg, answered journalists' questions:
"We are happy. We are glad that we scored 4 goals and did not concede any. Currently, our team is in a good position after this result. But nothing is over, we have to play at home. We have to finish our job there. Our team was good in this game. We worked well when defending. I was satisfied with the team's performance and the result."
- You came to Baku before for the game against "Qarabagh". How would you compare "Araz-Nakhchivan" with them?
- When we faced "Qarabagh", we drew away. Patrick Andrade was also playing there. "Qarabagh" was more experienced, "Araz-Nakhchivan" is a newly formed team. It is difficult to compare with 1-2 games. 3-4 years have passed. "Araz-Nakhchivan" shows a good game. They performed very well against "Aris", they won confidently. Today our victory was not easy. We just scored our goals. We performed successfully in defense and made it difficult for "Araz-Nakhchivan".
