Former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has criticized the tactical system of the team's head coach, Vincent Kompany.
Idman.Biz reports that Kahn, one of the legends of German football, stated that the problems experienced by Bayern in the game against France's PSG football club were not accidental. According to him, Kompany's system makes the team very vulnerable at the slightest loss of control. Sky Sport wrote that Kahn sees one of the reasons for Bayern's elimination from the Champions League in this risky system.
Oliver Kahn said in his statement:
"In recent weeks, we have seen that Kompany's system involves great risk. You quickly realize how sensitive this system is when you lose even the slightest control. That's what happened against 'Pari'. It didn't take two or three minutes for this to happen.
After conceding two or three goals, you won't always be able to score four goals. Modern football is not about blindly sticking to a system, but about having a plan B and being able to implement many different ideas."
Kahn believes that in high-level games, a model calculated only on attack is not enough. According to him, a team that wants to succeed in the Champions League must be able to control the game for most of the match.
The former goalkeeper emphasized that although "Bavaria" looks attractive in terms of play, the main problem is the lack of balance and alternative plans.
