"Newcastle United" announced on their social media page X that winger Anthony Gordon has been sold to "Barcelona" for a "significant" fee.
According to Idman.Biz, the English club did not disclose the amount.
"Anthony Gordon has signed with La Liga champions Barcelona for a significant, undisclosed fee.
Thank you for everything, Anthony. We wish you the best of luck in the future," the "Magpies" said in their post.
Earlier media reports stated that Newcastle's board of directors and the club's Saudi Arabian owners accepted the Catalans' offer of a fixed price of 70 million euros plus add-ons. The final transfer fee will exceed 80 million euros.
