Czech coach Miroslav Kubek has become the oldest coach to lead a team in the World Cup. According to Sport24.az, the expert who led the Czechs against South Korea was 74 years and 283 days old.
He broke the record of Hugo Boss, the coach of South Africa, who was 74 years and 62 days old when he led his team against Mexico yesterday.
This record can only be broken by 78-year-old coach Dick Advocaat of the Curaçao national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Note that Mexico won the opening match of the World Cup, defeating South Africa 2-0.
